At The Bougainvillea House, sustainability is not just a concept—it’s a way of life. To minimize our ecological impact, only 3 coconut trees and a jackfruit tree were removed during construction. To compensate, we cultivated 16 trees and several bamboo clusters, which together absorb approximately 234 kg of CO2 annually, contributing positively to the environment.
Strategically planted trees in the south and east of the property provide a natural barrier against direct sunlight, reducing heat during the day. This not only enhances indoor comfort but also lowers the need for cooling systems, contributing to additional energy savings. The combination of greenery and intelligent design creates a home that is both environmentally friendly and thermally efficient.
We have also taken conscious efforts to include cross-ventilated windows, ensuring natural ventilation throughout the house. This thoughtful design, combined with large ventilations and open windows, significantly reduces reliance on artificial air conditioning. The house saves 4,000 to 5,000 watts of electricity per day, totaling 1,460-1,825 kWh annually, and prevents the release of about 700-900 kg of CO2 emissions annually.
Additionally, we opted for steel doors and windows, conserving precious wood resources while ensuring durability. Every aspect of The Bougainvillea House reflects a commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient living.
